A public drop-in event was held on 2nd November at the Kyle Centre in Tongue, to enable local people to see the draft proposals for the North Sutherland Health & Social Care Hub. The event was attended by representatives of the project partners, NHS Highland, The Highland Council and Wildland. The project architects (Oliver Chapman Architects) were also on hand to answer questions.
Approximately 50-60 people attended. The feedback was very positive, with many people pleased to see the project moving forward. There is undoubtedly a desire to see the building constructed soon, bringing modern, purpose-built integrated care to the north coast.
A number of useful comments were received, relating to the building and site design, operational matters and the services to be provided from the building. All points raised are being considered as we move towards the final design for the project and the submission of a planning application.
